Why #Lookbook Will Never Tell You What’s “In” This Season

Our philosophy on trends, individuality, and what fashion media should actually do

The Trend Machine

Every few months, fashion media announces what’s “in” and what’s “out.” Neon is in. Minimalism is out. Wide legs are in. Skinny jeans are dead. Then six months later, everything reverses.

This cycle isn’t designed to help you dress well. It’s designed to keep you shopping. If your wardrobe is never “current,” you’re always one purchase away from being up to date. And then another. And another.

That’s the trend machine. And we’ve decided not to participate.

Why Trends Don’t Work for Most People

Trends are set by fashion houses catering to a global luxury market. They filter down through fast fashion and social media into your feed. By the time you buy the trendy piece, the cycle has already moved on.

More importantly, trends rarely account for Indian reality. Climate, cultural occasion needs, budget constraints, body diversity, regional preferences. None of that factors into a Paris runway decision.

So when a trend report tells you to buy a wool coat because “outerwear is having a moment,” and you live in Chennai… that’s not useful advice. That’s content filler.

What We Believe Instead

We believe in style over trends. Style is personal. It’s built over time. It survives seasons because it’s based on who you are, not what the industry decided to push this quarter.

We believe in utility. Every piece in your wardrobe should serve a real purpose in your actual life. Not your aspirational life. Your real one.

We believe in longevity. Buy things that last. Wear them repeatedly. Take care of them. That’s more radical than any trend.

And we believe in honesty. When something is genuinely useful, we’ll recommend it. When it’s just trend-driven marketing, we’ll say so.

What You’ll Find at #Lookbook Instead of Trend Reports

Seasonal fabric guides matched to Indian weather. Occasion-specific outfit plans. City-wise shopping intelligence. Episode-by-episode style decoding. Budget-tier wardrobe builds. Tailor directories. Grooming routines. Fit guides.

All of it practical. All of it honest. None of it driven by what some fashion house decided in a boardroom nine months ago.

If that sounds boring compared to a glossy trend report, I’d argue it’s actually more interesting. Because it’s about your life, not someone else’s marketing cycle.

The Only Trend We Follow

Dressing well with intention, honesty, and respect for your own budget.

That’s the only trend that never goes out of style. And it’s the only one #Lookbook will ever cover.

Welcome to the publication that respects your wallet as much as your wardrobe.
